Castles Forbes makes amazing creams. I have all of their creams and this is by far my favorite. Not sure if its the oils they put only in the lime cream or what, but this thing is a lather beast and smells amazing!! (Posted on 8/26/2014)

  2. Lime or Pine Fresh? Review by Neil

CF is an amazing soap maker, but their lime scent is really strong and doesn't agree with my nose at all. I'd definitely try a sample of this before dropping down some cash on this jar of cream! The lather on the other hand, is just amazing! It is quite expensive and for the scent I don't feel its worth its price. There are other cents of CF that are a lot better than lime. All in all, give CF a shot, just maybe don't start with lime! (Posted on 8/8/2014)

  3. Good Cream, Not a Fan of the Scent Review by Ron

Castle Forbes is a great, high quality cream. Their Lime scent is divisive. Unless you've smelled it already, you may want to hold off. It's a Key Lime Pie type smell, which isn't bad, it's just not what everyone wants with a high class cream scent. As a cream, I think it's a great product, but kind of expensive when you compare it to other high quality creams like Taylor of Bond Street. Like the smell, price is subjective. (Posted on 7/2/2014)

  4. A surprising value Review by Jason

It takes a very minimal amount of product to whip up a ton of lather. I've just dabbed the tips of my brush in the container and had enough for about 8 passes by the time I'm done, making it an expensive initial investment but a low cost per use. Truly a great cream with a sublime scent. (Posted on 6/27/2014)

  5. Not worth the price Review by Richard

I was gifted this shave cream for my birthday. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. I'm not sure what $50 shave cream is supposed to feel like, because I don't normally use it, but I would think that it would feel 3.3 times as good as something like Taylor's (which is only $15 and comes in a 5.3 ounce bowl). It doesn't. It feels the same.

There is no noticeable difference between how this cream and other quality creams perform. It doesn't load any better or any worse. It doesn't lather any better or any worse. It doesn't dry out more or less quickly. It doesn't gunk up the razor like lower quality creams, but more reasonably priced creams also have this quality. It smells... lime-ier, but I'm not sure if that justifies the price increase.

The bowl is nice too. If I ever finish using this cream, the bowl will hold a few screws resplendently. But it's ability to act as a bowl doesn't justify the $50 price tag over something that I can get at the dollar store for a dollar.

The only reason I would buy this cream at this price would be if I had a $50 gift card to Castle Forbes because I couldn't really buy two things then. (Posted on 5/30/2014)

  6. Amazing! But pricey! Review by Mitchell

If you like the smell of lime, buy this. It's a punch in the face -- with limes!

I've tried a few other lime soaps, this is the most limey of the bunch! It's a very accurate smell, and doesn't have anything extra.

Performance is a little better than TOBS, but at such an expensive price I'm not sure it's worth it for me.

If you are all about limes, I'm sure this will at least be a guilty pleasure. (Posted on 5/29/2014)

  7. Best Lime Shaving Cream! Review by Josh

This stuff is Amazing! I was originally very skeptical about the price of this product as most of my software was in the $8-20 range and wondered "how could it be worth twice as much?" I received some as a gift a few months ago and I found out first hand. I'm a citrus junkie when it comes to scents for my shaving products but most of them are a little weak or disappointing. Not so with the CF Lime! The scent is very natural and pleasing and strong. The tub is very large which also helps the price/value equation since you are getting more product for your money. Very little cream (just a few light swirls) is required to produce great lather in a bowl or on the face. Definitely one of the best performing products I have tried. (Posted on 5/21/2014)
