Another cream Review by Gabriel
Held up about the same as other creams by the brand. Good cushion, lacks slickness. Scent wise, this one was ok. I liked the sweetness though at times it came off as candy-like to my nose (Posted on 11/20/2014)
Marzipan!!! Review by Mike
Smells sweet without being overbearing and girly. Its a smooth natural kind of cream (Posted on 11/8/2014)
A+ Review by Ashley
Wonderful lather, use a dollop about the size of an almond in the palm of your hand or a shaving mug/bowl, and a few seconds with a shaving brush gets you a rich lather. Comfortable shave with a pleasant but never overpowering scent. I prefer the Sandalwood scent, but this one is nice too. (Posted on 10/24/2014)
Can't go wrong Review by Neil
Taylor of Old Bond Street as a company does not know how to make a bad shaving cream. I've tried 4 different varieties of theirs and all have been great! Almond is the first that I have tried and I must say my favorite. It is the perfect shaving cream for the beginner. It forms a lather very easily and keeps a good consistency throughout multiple passes. You don't have to be careful with this shaving cream, it will give you a good shave no matter how new your lathering technique is. Truly an amazing product. (Posted on 8/7/2014)
Typical TOBS Performance Review by Pete
If you have used TOBS then you know it's a great lathering soap that offers great glide and cushion. I'm my opinion you can not go wrong with TOBS. The almond scent was not my favorite as it smelled too sweet to me. I'd try a different Almond scented cream before getting this one again. (Posted on 7/17/2014)
If you like Almonds... Review by Ron
This would be for you. It's got the same great TOBS cream that's a real lather builder. But I'm not a fan of almond, and this is really almondy. If you like almonds and you like TOBS creams, you're going to like this. (Posted on 7/12/2014)
Classic smelling, well performing cream Review by Richard S
I have enough soaps and creams on my shelf to last me 10+ years so I've gone through a fair bit of products - including a number of TOBS' offerings.
This cream sports a very traditional almond scent that you may recognize if you've used products like Cella, 3P, RR Classic, Valobra Almond, etc, etc so I'd call this product more traditional than unique which is, depending on who you are, not necessarily a bad thing at all.
What it is however is a very solid, high quality product that will produce a slick, comfortable lather with very little effort that gives great cushioning and protection for your wetshave.
I've lathered this cream with both boar and badger brushes and have always been able to get very nice lather with some great peaks.
A solid performer. (Posted on 7/7/2014)
TOBS = Can't go wrong! Review by Adonis
I LOVE the almond scent of this soap! One of the best almonds out there. TOBS is known for its great lather and face protection and this version dosen't disappoint! It was the first TOBS scent I tried and has remained my favorite. The scent fills the entire bathroom during my shave. If you like the almond scent you will love this soap! (Posted on 6/11/2014)
Excellent Review by Freddy
This is one of the most popular creams on the market and for good reason. It has good glide and cushion and is easy to lather. I would have preferred it came in a tube not a tub because it is easier to get out though. I use a broken off plastic disposable spoon to get the cream out. (Posted on 6/10/2014)
Mmmm Almond Review by Brian
As a huge fan of almond scented... well everything this is a great shaving cream. The same easy latherability of all TOBS creams with the benefit of an amazing smell. You should buy it, you know you want to (Posted on 6/9/2014)
Great Scent Review by Evan
I am a huge fan of the traditional italian almond scent and this product does not disappoint. Very easy to load and lather and has excellent glide and protection. Great stuff! (Posted on 6/6/2014)
Great shaving cream Review by Brian
Taylor of Old Bond Street makes a wonderful, mid-range shaving cream. Their product is a step up from low end creams like Proraso, but not quite as nice as higher end creams like Castle Forbes. What's nice about Taylor of Old Bond Street is the wide variety of creams to chose from. Despite the variations in scent, each cream performs equally well.
This almond cream smells like sweet almond/marzipan. It smells like almond cake and is very sweet. The cream lathers easily and provides lots of cushion and glide. At $15 for 5oz, it's a great value. One tub of this stuff will last you a very long time as a little bit goes a very long way. (Posted on 6/3/2014)
Smells kind of like Amaretto Review by Richard
If you are familiar with Taylor of Old Bond Street quality, then this cream will suit you well if you need an almond flavored chop to the grill. If you aren't familiar with Taylor of Old Bond Street quality, then this cream (or any other that they produce) is a VERY good choice.
It's not necessarily unique. There are other almond scented creams you can buy, and I'm sure they will perform just as nicely.
Taylor's quality is touted all over them internets. They have a very good reputation for load, lather, and shave. The cream doesn't dry out too quickly. It doesn't gunk up razor like some other creams do (this may be razor dependent though, I use a Merkur). It smells great without being overpowering. It certainly passes the wife smell test. This cream, and most other TOBS cream is amazing and worth trying out if you never have. (Posted on 5/30/2014)
Similar to italian almond soaps Review by Mitchell
This is not a particularly unique scent, but if you like TOBS performance, it's great.
To be clear, this is not a bitter almond scent, it's sweet and dessert-like. Some people mistake it for a cherry scent.
It's not the most masculine of scents, but it's a joy to use.
A cheap hard soap that has a similar scent is Cella, or the original RazoRock soap. (Posted on 5/29/2014)
Almond Lovers, this is for you... Review by Josh
I'm not personally a huge almond scent fan for my shaving products (which is strange because I love eating almonds and almond flavored desserts), but this cream is perfect for those who do. The described sweet almond/marzipan scent is right on. Same great performance as the other TOBS creams. (Posted on 5/21/2014)
