  1. Really unique producy Review by Chris

I tried this as a sample out of the shave box. This product is a no-lather cream that you just rub on to your wet face. While the no-lather concept is not really my thing, I really have to hand it to this product in that it is EXTREMELY slick. I was very impressed with the slickness of the cream. It rinses easily, so make sure your face is as wet as you want it before you apply the product, or you'll wash it away. The scent leaves a little something to be desired. It doesn't smell bad, it just doesn't really smell like much at all. (Posted on 10/31/2014)

Latherless, you say? I was skeptical. I usually like a good lather with a quality cream or soap and brush. But I have to say this cream gave me a great, close shave. My face felt marvelous afterward, too. I might actually add this to the list of shaving products for future product rotations.

I'm not a huge fan of latherless creams but this is great. The first thing I like about it is that its clear so you can see the hair you need to remove, the only downside is that after the first pass it can be a little hard to tell what you have already gone over. The next thing I like is how easy it is to apply and wash when you are done. This is very slick and I get just as good of a shave as if I used a lathering soap or cream. I enjoy creating a lather and using a brush but if I'm in a hurry and want a good shave this is what I will use. (Posted on 10/29/2014)

  4. Nice Latherless Cream Review by Tyler

I am not a fan of latherless cream. However, this product is the best performing latherless cream I have tried. I spread it on my damp face prior to shaving with an old Geo. Wostenholm straight. As other reviewers have stated, there is zero cushion but lost of slickness. I did my first pass and there was very little irritation. For my 2nd and final passes I switched back to some proraso green. I would definitely use this while traveling, but I really prefer a lathering cream and a nice brush. (Posted on 10/27/2014)

  5. Works decently Review by Gary F.

Shave this morning with a sample form the great Luxury Shave monthly - if you don't subscribe do it now. The non lathering shave was very slick and produced well. However, the reason I went to DE shaving starting with hot towels is the morning ritual. If you need a great shave it works well but where the joy. The cost pre shave seem a bit pricey. This, like others have said, doesn't lather. For that reason, its perfect for travel when you don't want to worry about a brush and bowl. It also is pretty awesome if you are in a hurry, because you just slap it on and you're ready for a shave! Really slick and offers good protection. (Posted on 8/11/2014)

  7. This stuff is slick Review by Jason

But it doesn't lather. If you're just wanting something to slap on your face and go, this is great stuff. If you want to use it in combination with a soap or cream that does lather, that will also work. This product by itself is ice skating slick, but not a bit of cushion. (Posted on 6/30/2014)

  9. Works as Advertised Review by Aaron

Hydroplane was an interesting product. It was my first use of a non-lather shaving cream. I was a little unsure when I first used it but it works decently well. I got away with a irritation free shave and very little mess in (perhaps most importantly) a surprisingly short amount of time.

For me however this took away from the point of wet shaving. Personally wet shave to relax and take my time, cutting out the traditional lather felt wrong, and the shave while good was not any better than a traditional one for me.

The other shortcoming here is potentially cost. I only used a sample pack (Thanks Josh) but for the amount I only got one shave from it. It seems like there are other more cost effective options.

Still, if lather-free is your approach this would be a decent one to try. (Posted on 6/4/2014)

I'm not a huge fan of non-lathering creams but this one performed rather well. It has sort of a slimy feel to it but it offers great glide and protection. It doesn't have much of a scent and it tends to get used up quickly so I'm not sure if I would get it again. (Posted on 5/30/2014)

  11. Very slick, good performance, kind of pricy Review by Mitchell

This is a very good product if you don't have time to make a proper lather with a brush and bowl.

I have used other companies shave oils, used coconut oil, and even a beard lube.

This is definitely the slickest, it's not sticky and doesn't grab the razor.

It's actually a pretty good amount of product too, because you are meant to apply it with a lot of water.

My only qualm with it is the price, and that it doesn't offer as much cushion as some of the thicker shave oils.

I would try a shave oil first for fast shaves, if that doesn't work, try this product. (Posted on 5/29/2014)
