Modern Miracle Review by Curt Norgard
If you’ve never tried a Merker razor before, you owe it to yourself to try this one. Because it has six settings, it’s great for all different skin types, including mine which is on the sensitive side. It’s a good weight and makes you feel like you’re getting a really good quality shave. A great all-round adjustable safety razor. Highly recommended. (Posted on 4/27/2015)
Big and Bold Review by Chris
I've had this razor for about 9 months now, and it splits duty with my RazoRock Hammer about 60/40. The construction is very high quality and when you hold it, the weight tells you that you are holding a quality tool. The weight is also nice for cutting through several days of stubble. While LB has one of the better prices on this razor that I've seen, this razor is still a little on the pricey side. My only other complaint is that this is a VERY aggressive razor. While I do adjust the gap depending on the specific blade I'm using and the amount of growth I'm shaving, if I ever go past a "3," absolute blood carnage ensues. All-in-all a great feeling and quality product, it could just be a little cheaper and a little less aggressive, IMO. (Posted on 9/21/2014)
Perfect. Review by Neil
This is the end all of razors, imo. I love it. Being an adjustable makes it so easy to just keep this in your den and kick the other razors out. I can't imagine shaving without it! (Posted on 8/11/2014)
Big, heavy, effective Review by Paul
This is one big razor! It is easily the biggest and heaviest razor I've ever used. The weight makes it easy to let the razor do the work without adding any pressure. It's adjustable, so it's easy to find what setting works for you. I used it on lower, more forgiving settings and got great results. It also might be the loudest razor... You can hear the stubble going down! (Posted on 8/4/2014)
Great Adjustable Razor Review by Christopher
This is a great adjustable razor with an excellent fit & finish. Some people are put off by the size of the razor head and find it cumbersome, but it has never been a problem for me. This razor has some heft to it but I find it to be well balanced. If you're looking for a gorgeous adjustable razor this is certainly one I'd consider. (Posted on 7/22/2014)
Back to the Futur Review by JR
This was actually my first DE razor. I quickly learned that I needed to improve my technique before cranking up the dial ( adjustable blade gap). I kept the futur set on 1 for a couple months until I became more comfortable with my angle and pressure. This razor is high quality, feels heavy in the hand, and the top plate design makes changing a blade a breeze. The sleek, satin, modern design provides a welcome addition to any razor collection. Speaking of addition, you should make this merkur futur an addition to your shopping cart. I can honestly say it's well worth the money. (Posted on 7/21/2014)
Best adjustable razor! Review by dan
It took some courage to pull the trigger on this razor but I'm so glad I did. It took a little while to find the right blade which happened to astra platinums and feathers on some occasions. But wow this razor just mows through my tough stubble. It's a heavy razor but it really is a dream to use it, and being able to adjust the aggressiveness depending on how old a blade is helps a lot. It's different Review by Jason
The FUTUR is a gorgeous razor. It is also one that I would not recommend for a beginner. It's quite aggressive and even at low settings can get a bit nicky. It is also quite heavy, which is a good thing to keep you from having to add any extra press when in use. This is a quality razor that is going to be a topic of conversation if you leave it out in your guest bathroom. But don't do that, someone might steal it :) (Posted on 6/27/2014)
An Agressive adjustable Review by Scott
Top quality build. The two piece design is loved by some and not so much by others. I feel the two piece makes it very easy to load and unload. I think Merkur is the only manufacturer of modern adjustables. Keep in mind that this razor is very very adjustable. Not the best razor for beginners but once you have the technique of DE shaving this razor is a beauty! (Posted on 6/24/2014)
Good shaver Review by Freddy
It is easy to customize your shave by adjusting. It is a 2 piece razor. Easier to load than a 3-piece but not easier than a TTO razor. Also the razor is made out of pot metal. (Posted on 6/10/2014)
Fantastic razor Review by Brian
This is a fantastic razor. There aren't many adjustable razors being produced these days, but of the modern adjustables, this is the best. The razor has five settings, so you can select how aggressive you want it. It's a bit bigger than your standard DE razor, but just as easy to use. As far as price is concerned, it's a bit more expensive than standard DE razors, but it's on par with what vintage adjustables like the Fatboy or Gillette Slim are going for on ebay. Know what you are getting into. Review by Mitchell
The futur is a very, very aggressive razor. It has 5 settings (and a bit, sometimes called the 6 setting).
Even at its lowest setting, this is an aggressive razor. So if thats what your after, you came to the right place.
The biggest issue I have with the Futur is it's head. It may be hard to tell from the pictures, but compared to other razors, it has a very large top cap.
What this means is if you have trouble getting under your nose with a regular double edge, you will have a lot of trouble with the futur.
Overall it is a great razor though, as long as you know it is aggressive. It definitely has one-of-a-kind looks. (Posted on 5/29/2014)
A must for your razor arsenal Review by John
I thought it was a bit pricey at first, but I'm definitely happy with the Futur. This is one fine piece of German craftsmanship. Sleek, solid, and extremely functional it has become the go-to razor in my shaving den. The weight is surprisingly heavy in the hand but is not difficult to maneuver around your face. And because of its weight it literally does all the work; all you have to do is guide it and rinse! The adjustable settings are easy to dial up and stay put (including half settings). And it's 2-piece design is easy to load/unload quickly with your favorite blade. So if you only want to invest in one razor for your shaving arsenal, this is definitely one to have at the top of the list! (Posted on 5/21/2014)
